Shefali & Eugene: A Wedding That Brought Two Worlds Together

There are weddings where you spend the whole day photographing beautiful moments. And then there are weddings that feel like something out of a fairytale, where every moment, every emotion, and every little detail comes together to tell a story you can’t help but fall in love with.

Shefali and Eugene’s wedding was one of those.

They came from different parts of the world, built their life together in Vancouver, and brought their families to Bangalore to celebrate their wedding. We were there to photograph it all, from the excitement of the celebrations to the quiet moments that happened in between.

Our Story Featured on Canadian Bride Guide

And then came a moment that made this story even more special for us. This wedding was featured on the Canadian Bride Guide, a moment we are incredibly proud of and a wonderful recognition of the story we had the privilege of capturing.

A Wedding That Brought Everyone Together

Shefali and Eugene first met in Vancouver in 2022. Shefali had grown up in Bangalore, studied in London and later moved to Vancouver, while Eugene had moved from Ukraine to Canada.

Their wedding in Bangalore brought all these different parts of their lives together. Friends and family travelled from different parts of the world to be there, making the celebrations feel truly beautiful.

The Sangeet at ITC Windsor was full of music, dancing and plenty of emotions. Family and friends from more than 18 countries even sent video messages for the couple, which made the evening even more special.

The wedding at St. Mark’s Cathedral brought in traditions from both sides. One of the details we loved was the Slavic tradition of sharing korovai bread and salt, which Eugene’s family brought into the ceremony.

There were also smaller details that made the wedding personal, like Shefali’s wedding gown, created by her childhood classmate Nikita.

Behind the Cameras

We were a team of 5 people for the wedding, with photographers, videographers and a creative director working together throughout the celebrations.

There was never really a quiet moment at this wedding. All through the day, there were little stories unfolding around us: friends reuniting after years, family members getting emotional, spontaneous hugs, dance floor chaos, and quiet moments the couple found for themselves.

We tried to be there for all of it.

Because when you look back at your wedding years later, it is not only the big moments you want to remember. It is also the people who were there, the little reactions, the laughter and everything that happened around you.

A Wedding We Will Remember

Shefali and Eugene’s wedding was a beautiful mix of people, cultures and traditions, but at the heart of it, it was simply two people celebrating with the people they love.

For us, getting to photograph a wedding that brought together families and friends from so many different parts of the world was a wonderful experience.

And seeing their story featured on Canadian Bride Guide made it even more special.

We are grateful to have been a small part of Shefali and Eugene’s story and to have photographs that will take them back to these days for years to come.
